Life Together

Life Together

The church is far more than a gathering on Sunday mornings, but rather a people united by Jesus Christ who share their lives. We not only invite one another into our homes, but invite one another into our lives. We strive to share our life experience with each other as a family. We talk a lot about “doing gospel life together.”  This is more than just a catchy phrase for us.  It is the way we capture the essence of what it means to be the family of God in Christ – the Church!  There is simply no way for us to be a biblical Church apart from sharing our lives with one another (see Acts 2:41-47; 4:32-35).  Everywhere you look in the New Testament, God is telling His people to do face-to-face life together in order to show off His glory in the Gospel of Christ (Matthew 18:15-18; 1 Corinthians 12; Galatians 6; Ephesians 4; James 5; 1 Peter 4; 3 John).  Every Christian needs to make disciples and to submit to being discipled!  Every Christian needs the love and discipline of a gospel-centered, Christ-exalting family!  We must take seriously our Lord’s command to “walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called” (Eph 4:1).  This is why we strongly encourage every believer who covenants together with us at Brookville Baptist  to “do gospel life together.”
