He is Not Silent – God’s Self Revelation
God didn’t have to reveal anything to us. There was no necessity for Him to speak at all, and yet He has! He is not silent. He has revealed Himself so that His creation might know Him!
God has revealed Himself to us generally in creation, but more particularly in the Bible. His self disclosure and revelation is reliable. Scripture is our sole authority in life. Augustine said so long ago “When the Bible speaks, God speaks.” This means in the Bible we have access to God’s own personal thoughts. We have His very words and what He has said must be trusted and obeyed. The Word of God is understandable, true, trustworthy, necessary and sufficient. In this series Pastor David examines why Christians trust the Bible.
