I AM the Way, and the Truth, and the Life – John 14:1-7
Is Jesus really the only way to God? Of all the bold and controversial things Jesus said perhaps His words in John 14:6 are the most intense. Jesus claims to be the only true way to life with God. In this sermon Pastor David explains that the sin of all of humanity has separated us from God, so we are lost and need to find a way back to God, but Jesus came to provide the way back to God. Jesus is the Way. Salvation is possible only through faith in Jesus Christ. Apart from the message of Christ’s perfect life, substitutionary death and victorious resurrection there is no hope for humanity. The only way that anyone can be saved is through belief in Jesus. The real question is not “Why would God make Jesus the only way?” but “Why would God make anyway at all for rebellious sinners to be saved from the judgment they deserve?”
“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to Myself, that where I am you may be also. 4 And you know the way to where I am going.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going. How can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I AM the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also. From now on you do know Him and have seen Him.” John 14:1-7
