All Things – Philippians 4:10-13
When Paul writes “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”. What does he mean? What are the “all things” that he is referring to? This week Pastor Nate Adams rose to the challenge of preaching on one of the most misused verses in scripture that seems to always be plucked out of its native context: Philippians 4:13. Pastor Nate remedies this by starting in verse 10 and leading us through verse 12 to build the context of contentment in All Things in Christ in order to bring us to the proper understanding and application of “doing all things through Him who strengthens me”.
10 I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. 11 Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. 12 I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need. 13 I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
