The Glory of Christ – Matthew 28
In Luke 24 Jesus explains how the Scriptures foretold that the Messiah would Suffer and then enter into His Glory. Likewise Peter explains that suffering was His path to glory in 1 Pet 1:10-11. And Paul writes to the Philippians that it’s specifically because of Jesus Humbling Himself that God the Father highly Exulted Him. (Phil 2:8-9) Last week we considered a the Humiliation of Christ and in this second sermon Pastor David examines the Exaltation of Christ, our Savior and King.
Christians celebrate both what Christ has done and what He is doing. Now in heaven exalted high, Jesus our glorious King, is risen from the dead, is reigning over the universe and is redeeming His people. Listen as Pastor David explains why everyone should joyfully bow the knee to King Jesus.
Matthew 28:16–20 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. [17] And when they saw him they worshiped him, but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
