The Holy Spirit & the Holy Bible – John 14:25-26
The Holy Spirit is the teacher of all true Christians but He taught the apostles in a special way. In John 14:26 Jesus promised the Spirit would enable those who actually heard Jesus to faithfully pass on Jesus’ message. This is yet another promise about the Spirit’s ministry, but it’s a particular promise. It is distinct from the illumination the Spirit brings to all believers. Jesus promised us that the Holy Spirit would give us the Holy Bible by enabling the authors of Scripture to rightly remember & correctly understand Jesus’ teaching.
